How do I turn on caller name announcements?
Open the App, enable the Voice Caller Announcer, and grant the phone and contacts permissions when prompted. Test it by having someone call you — you'll hear the caller's name spoken aloud.
Why does the App need my contacts, phone, and SMS permissions?
The phone permission lets the App detect an incoming call and read the number; the contacts permission lets it match that number to a name so it can be announced; and the SMS permission lets the SMS Reader speak your incoming messages. This processing happens on your device — see our Privacy Policy for details. You can revoke any permission at Settings → Apps → Caller Name Talker & Alert → Permissions.
Does the App upload my contacts or messages?
No. Your contact list and message content are not sent to or stored on our servers. The App does include third-party analytics and advertising SDKs (Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Adjust, and the Meta SDK) that collect device and advertising identifiers, all disclosed in our Privacy Policy.
Announcements stop working when my screen is off or the phone is idle.
Some manufacturers (Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, and others) aggressively close background apps to save battery. To keep announcements reliable, disable battery optimization for the App: Settings → Apps → Caller Name Talker & Alert → Battery → Unrestricted (the exact path varies by device), and allow it to auto-start where that option exists.
The flash notification isn't blinking.
Make sure the Flash Notifications feature is enabled in the App and that no other app is holding the camera/torch. The flashlight can only blink when the camera is not in use by another app.
Can I stop the App from announcing certain callers?
Yes. Add contacts to the exclusion list in the App's settings, and those callers will not be announced. You can also adjust speech speed, repeat behavior, and silent/vibrate modes there.
Is the App free?
Yes — the App is free and supported by ads. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.
How do I see fewer personalized ads?
You can reset or opt out of your Advertising ID at Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device (the path varies by manufacturer). Where required by law, the App also shows a consent prompt you can use to decline personalized ads.
